There were several things that had to be finished this week. I had to spend time with Mrs. Shwamb going over the information we had collected about the students who did the Cybersafety online course. She was very happy with the results and said she feels they have a better understanding about what it means to be safe online.
There was also time that had to be spent with the Ms. Cox, the media specialist so I could finalize the technology administrator report. Although I did not have to submit the report to her we do have a good relationship and she asked if she could read over it. I felt there was no harm in that. She felt that I had presented a good picture of where they are now and where they hope to be in the next couple of years.
I was also asked to do a few technology work requests since we share a Technology Support Specialist with another elementary school and she was not there. There were several computers that would not connect to the internet. After troubleshooting a few things I made a call to the TSS and asked her if I could just replace the router. Luckily, she had an extra one in the building and it appears that fixed the problem. Another teacher had an issue with her computer not booting up properly. Every time she turned it on the screen would automatically go into sleep mode. I found that she had placed a thumb drive into the computer before starting it up. Evidently, the default boot was going to the USB not the hard drive. After removing the USB drive it booted fine and she was then able to put her drive in to gather her lesson plans.
